What's the role? As a Stobart rail shunter it is your responsibility to ensure that all rail carriages visiting the site are processed in a safe, diligent and time efficient manner, in compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and appropriate Health and Safety Legislation requirements by utilisation of a pro-active dedicated approach. Shift Pattern: Late 11:00am - 21:00pm and Nights 21:00pm - 07:00am. Can include cover shifts. Salary: up to £30,000 per annum Main Responsibilities & Objectives: Liaise with the Health and Safety Business Unit in relation to "Safe Systems of Work", current legislation pertaining to Health and Safety and the requirements of the company Health and Safety Policy Ensure compliance with all Freightliner rules and regulations To accurately follow the Shunter trainer responsibilities and duties for train arrivals and departures guidelines Adhere to all accident and incident reporting procedures Working with your team to work safely and efficiently in order to maintain carriage processes within the correct timeframe To carry out maintenance on Terminal Equipment on a daily, weekly and annual basis and respond to maintenance requirements as they arise To adhere to the Team Roster, Call Out Roster and absence cover requirements Liaising with the Intermodal Control Team and Transport Operations office to establish future requirements Promptly report defects found within the company's Health and Safety Policy or methods of work relating to Freightliners rules and regulations Report any defect or hazard as soon as any is noted on company premises Participate in forums, seminars and training as may be requested by Supervisor(s)/Managers to secure knowledge and understanding of the role or facts of the role Follow all reasonable requests from Supervisor(s)/Managers To carry out other duties as request by Supervisor(s)/Managers Qualifications What kind of person are we looking for? working knowledge of Microsoft packages including Excel Preferred Health & Safety accreditation Previous Ports/Terminal Operations experience Deomonstrable Planning & Problem-solving skills Additional Information Benefits: 28 Days annual leave Loyalty Bonus: 5 extra days holiday allowance after 5 years' service / cash equivalent Free full Stobart company uniform Ongoing Training and Development opportunities Free Parking Pension Scheme - company 3% contribution Death in Service Colleague Performance Review Process Onsite canteens (subject to depot) Employee Assistance Programme Discounted gym membership at PureGym Rewards App - discount on 100's of brands Refer a friend bonus
