Temporary Fabricator / Welder TIG Stainless & MIG Mild Steel Location: Burton-on-Trent Assignment: Temporary (with potential extension) Sector: Special Purpose Machinery / Industrial Equipment Manufacturing The Role Our client is seeking a skilled Fabricator / Welder with proven experience in TIG welding stainless steel and MIG welding mild steel to support the fabrication and assembly of bespoke machinery and fabricated components within a heavy engineering environment. You will work from engineering drawings to manufacture precision fabrications used in specialist industrial equipment and structural assemblies. Key Responsibilities Fabrication and welding of mild steel and stainless-steel components TIG welding of stainless assemblies to high cosmetic and structural standards MIG welding of mild steel fabrications and frames Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and weld symbols Cutting, forming, drilling and fitting components prior to welding Assembly of fabricated structures and sub-assemblies Checking tolerances, squareness and dimensional accuracy Working to strict quality and safety standards Supporting mechanical build / machine assembly where required Skills & Experience Required Proven experience as a Fabricator / Welder in heavy engineering or machinery manufacturing Strong TIG stainless welding capability Solid MIG mild steel fabrication experience Ability to work from detailed fabrication drawings Experience producing structural or machinery fabrications Good understanding of fabrication processes and workshop machinery Ability to work independently and to production deadlines Desirable Previous experience in special purpose machinery, automation or industrial equipment Multi-material fabrication (stainless & carbon steel) Welding qualifications or coded experience Mechanical assembly experience Working Environment Engineering fabrication workshop supporting manufacture of industrial machinery Heavy fabricated structures, frames and precision assemblies Project-based / bespoke builds rather than batch production Contract Details Temporary assignment Competitive hourly rate £14 - £17 per hour (DOE) Overtime may be available Immediate start preferred How to Apply: Think this role could be a good fit for you?
