Job Description:
Leap29 is recruiting two skilled engineers with excellent design experience to join our client's growing team in Liverpool:
* Solar PV Specialist – Focused on optimizing yield and enhancing system performance.
* Generalist Renewable Energy Engineer – Responsible for overseeing tender processes, acting as Owner’s Engineer (OE), conducting Due Diligence (DD), and supporting Lender’s Technical Advisor (LTA) activities.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop technical designs from concept to detailed engineering using industry-standard software, aligned with project phases.
* Optimize system layouts and energy yields through constraint analysis.
* Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, regulations, and best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams.
* Assist in preparing pre-construction and post-construction documentation.
* Support technical due diligence and liaise with Lenders’ Technical Advisors (LTAs).
* Lead or support tender and RFQ evaluations.
* Define, monitor, and review contract technical requirements, ensuring compliance and resolving issues.
* Conduct site inspections to verify installation and testing standards.
* Manage grid connection applications and approvals.
* Provide technical input during Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT).
* Assess pre-construction technical surveys.
* Build and maintain relationships with Owners' Engineers and Independent Connection Providers (ICPs).
Requirements:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy Engineering, or related field.
* Experience in utility-scale solar power projects.
* Proficiency in solar PV design tools such as PVsyst, AutoCAD, or PVCase.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills focused on system optimization.
Core skillset:
* Electrical Design
* Proficiency in solar PV design software (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, PVCase)
* Project optimization
* Understanding of soil factors (1%-2%)
* Electrical calculations
* Tenders and bids
* Pre-construction phase management
