Due to expansion, Bright Stars Pre-school, part of Long Mead Community Primary School in Tonbridge, is seeking a caring, enthusiastic and motivated Pre-School Teacher to join our friendly team. We are looking for a dedicated team player to lead our pre-school provision, working closely with the EYFS team and SENCO. Are you a creative teacher with the skills, knowledge and ability to inspire and develop our lovely children? If so, the Governors and Headteacher at Long Mead would love meet you and show you around our wonderful school. We welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs.
This is a main pay scale, part-time post on a fixed term contract, initially for a year.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities in line with the EYFS.
2. Observe, assess, and record children’s progress, advising parents and carers regularly.
3. Create a warm, safe, and inclusive environment that supports all children’s development.
4. Develop and implement targeted support plans for children needing additional guidance.
5. Support children with routines, independence skills, and self-care.
6. Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow all safeguarding and health & safety procedures
We are looking for someone who:
7. Has QTS and has experience teaching young children, ideally in a pre-school or nursery setting
8. Is calm, patient, and nurturing, with a passion for early years education
9. Understands the importance of play-based learning and child development
10. Has experience supporting children with SEND – desirable
