The role is factory and workshop based, so you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer you’ll be working on a days only, 4 on 4 off shift pattern 05:00 – 17:00. What will you be doing as a Multi-Skilled Engineer at Avara? As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will be key player in ensuring the consistent smooth running of factory machinery including planned maintenance and reactive repairs, along with continually looking for ways to improve future processes. What will your key responsibilities as Multi-Skilled Engineer include? Ensuring maintenance is carried out in line with the schedule and effective and efficient corrective action is taken. A quick and effective response to breakdowns, where possible identifying root cause and suggesting improvements. Communicating unscheduled breakdowns to the Engineering Shift Manager. Demonstrating good problem solving techniques for mechanical and electrical issues. What you’ll need to be successful: A relevant engineering apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications (BTEC & NVQ L3, HND, Degree, etc) Manufacturing Engineering experience, ideally within food manufacturing. A familiarity with processing machinery and the ability to fault find. An electrical bias with sound mechanical knowledge.
