Lead Protection & Control Engineer – Contract – Hybrid – Glasgow – Outside IR35
VIQU have partnered with a leading consultancy in the energy sector, who are seeking an experienced Lead Protection & Control Engineer. You'll play a key role in delivering complex Protection & Control solutions across Transmission and Distribution projects, ensuring compliance, quality, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the technical design and delivery of Protection & Control systems.
* Develop SLDs, KLDs, architecture diagrams, and concept designs.
* Conduct site surveys and provide technical input for tenders.
* Produce and review schematics, layouts, calculations, and schedules.
* Chair design workshops and interface with clients and stakeholders.
* Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to required standards.
Key Requirements:
* Strong experience as a Lead Protection & Control Engineer.
* Knowledge of key technologies and vendors, with solid background within the Energy industry.
* Hands-on experience with IEC61850 and related field implementation.
* Understanding of communications, substation protocols, and Cyber Security requirements.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel when needed
