The role:
We are seeking an experienced Compliance Verification Engineer (CVE) with a strong electronics background to take a hands-on role within our Part 21J Design Organisation. This position combines technical creation, engineering judgement, and formal compliance responsibility, and is well suited to an engineer who enjoys owning both the solution and the certification outcome.
You will be actively involved in the design and definition of electronic systems, while also acting as the compliance authority ensuring those designs meet applicable airworthiness requirements.
Key responsibilities:
* Create and define electronic system architectures, requirements, and certification strategies
* Act as CVE for electrical and electronic systems, owning compliance from concept through approval
* Produce, as well as review and approve:
* Electrical schematics and system designs
* Compliance checklists and statements
* Means of Compliance and certification plans
* Test specifications and qualification reports (e.g. DO-160)
* Interpret CS-25 / FAR-25 requirements and translate regulation into practical engineering solutions
* Lead and contribute to safety assessments.
* Provide technical leadership and challenge within the engineering team without unnecessary bureaucracy
* Interface directly with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.
* Support production, in-service issues, and design changes where compliance judgement is required
Desirable
* Existing UK CAA or EASA CVE authorisation
* Experience with STCs, minor changes, and validation projects
* Exposure to the 21J / 21G interface and production support
* Background in aircraft cabin systems, lighting, or in-seat power
