In Community Services, we work to reduce crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour. Our goal? To make Central Bedfordshire a great place to work and live. As a CCTV Officer, you'll play a big part in our team's success. By monitoring our CCTV systems, you'll help us spot issues and make sure they're dealt with quickly. Join us and find your greatness as you protect our communities and create a more pleasant region for all.
Using hi-tech CCTV systems set up in the town centre and public spaces, you'll monitor key areas and flag up any problems. You'll then work with partner agencies, particularly the Police to ensure a fast, joined-up response. Where necessary, you'll also provide evidence and witness statements in court. Maintaining accurate records will be crucial.
To work unsupervised, you must have a Security Industry Authority (SIA) Front Line CCTV licence. If you don't have this already, we'll organise training so you can get the qualification that's needed. Once you have this, we'll pay for the licence and any external training.
Perhaps you've worked in a crime prevention or community safety role before. Whatever your background, you must have knowledge of relevant legislation, excellent communication skills, able to work independtley and as part of a team and be able to follow procedures. You'll also have honed your observational skills and learned to cope in a high-pressure working environment. Calm and collected, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, you'll be IT-literate and able to multi-task.
Join us, and you'll enjoy attractive benefits plus the chance to learn and progress. We offer full in-house training plus the support to gain a SIA licence. Even better, you'll find your greatness as you help us reduce crime and boost community safety.
