The SERM Scientific Director provides expert medical/scientific evaluation in the safety and risk management of key GSK assets during clinical development. This role involves reviewing data, managing safety issues, and escalating concerns to senior management, while recommending safety risk management strategies focused on efficiency and patient needs.
Scientific/Medical Knowledge & PV Expertise
# Lead Pharmacovigilance and Risk Management Planning, developing evaluation strategies.
# Manage safety components of global regulatory submissions.
# Conduct literature reviews, clinical data analysis, and interpretation with expert skills.
# Make quality decisions and resolve problems creatively, considering all relevant information.
# Prioritize tasks effectively, ensuring high-quality, timely delivery.
# Facilitate safety governance and lead cross-functional teams to address safety issues and implement risk-reduction strategies.
# Represent GSK on clinical teams, leading ad hoc teams for urgent safety issues.
# Drive process improvements and ensure adherence to policies and regulations.
# Present safety recommendations to senior management and contribute to external safety discussions.
# Lead process improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.
# Prepare for inspections and audits, ensuring readiness.
Degree in Health Sciences or related field (e.g., BSc, MS, PhD, RN/BSN/MSN, NP, RPh/B Pharm/Pharm D).
Experience in Pharmacovigilance, Drug Safety, or related areas within the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
