Offer description

You will be responsible for maintaining the highest possible standards of cleanliness and organisation, including:

· Washing, cleaning and storing all kitchen equipment, utensils, crockery and pans

· Cleaning and sanitising work surfaces, floors, shelving and service areas

· Operating and maintaining the dishwasher safely and effectively

· Supporting deep cleans and scheduled intensive cleaning tasks

· Ensuring the kitchen is always inspection-ready

· Ensuring waste is disposed of safely and hygienically

· Maintaining chemical safety and COSHH control

· Following all cleaning schedules accurately and on time.

You will support the Culinary Partners and Chefs with:

· Basic food preparation (vegetable preparation, simple tasks as directed)

· Accurate portioning and plating support when required

· Ensuring serving areas are set up, clean and ready

· Maintaining the flow of crockery, cutlery and equipment during peak service

· Supporting the reset of the kitchen between meals

You will uphold strict safety and respect for cultural, allergen and dietary requirements by:

· Preventing cross-contamination at all times

· Following clear instructions regarding Halal, Kosher, vegetarian, vegan and allergen-specific preparation

· Using designated chopping boards, utensils and preparation areas

· Ensuring allergen information is never compromised

· Storing ingredients safely, labelled and in the correct locations

· Following the CHG cultural food safety expectations

· Complete cleaning records

· Log temperatures where delegated

· Record equipment cleaning or checks

About The Role

The hours worked is 09:30 - 17:30 hours worked over a 7 day rota.

The Culinary Support role is essential to the smooth running of the kitchen and dining experience. You provide safe, efficient and high-standard support to the Culinary Care Lead and Culinary Partners by maintaining exceptional kitchen cleanliness, supporting meal service, and ensuring the environment remains inspection-ready at all times.

Your work contributes directly to resident safety, dignity, enjoyment and wellbeing. You help create a home that feels warm, welcoming and professional — a place where residents are proud to live and families feel confident in the care their loved ones receive.

This role embodies CHG’s “Where People Matter” ethos by ensuring the kitchen environment consistently reflects safety, pride, hospitality and high standards.
