Associate Practitioner

Job Summary: Associate Practitioner opportunity within the ECT Clinic at The Lakes, Colchester (Part time - 15hrs per week). The Post Holder will work within the ECT Clinic and will be required to carry out a range of assigned tasks involving direct and non-direct care for the benefit of patients and the ECT service across the Trust. The role involves advocacy of ECT treatment and active improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the management and care of service users
* Produce accurate and timely documentation/records on all clients in line with relevant codes and Trust policy
* Contribute to assessment and observation of service users and provide relevant and timely feedback
* Contribute to risk assessment of the individual and potential hazards in the service user environment
* Provide practical support to service users and carers
* Support and reassure patients and their carers attending the clinic
* Report and document incidents as required
* Under supervision of a registered clinician take part in assessing, planning and reviewing care
* Assist in performing physical health observation duties such as taking blood pressure, temperature, blood glucose, weight measurement and ensuring correct documentation
Qualifications and Experience
Education / Qualifications (Essential): Foundation Degree - Associate Practitioner
Education / Qualifications (Desirable): NVQ 3 in Health & Social Care, Mental Health or equivalent
Experience (Essential):
* Understanding the role of the Support Worker
* Knowledge or experience of the Recovery model peoples day to day life and impact upon recovery
* Knowledge of the physical health needs of service users and monitoring of same
Transformation (Essential): Take the lead with regard to a number of roles including physical health
