We’re looking for a motivated individual to join our Capital Accounting Team, supporting the delivery of high-quality financial services across Estates, IT, and Clinical teams. With a 2025/26 capital budget of £32 million, this role offers the chance to work on impactful projects that shape the future of our hospitals. You’ll play a key part in supporting the Assistant Financial Accountant for Capital, ensuring accurate and timely financial management. Advert Key Skills Required Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective planning, organisational, and time management abilities. Your Key Responsibilities Assist in maintaining and updating the Trust’s Fixed Asset Register. Contribute to month-end capital reporting, ensuring deadlines are met. Coordinate the twice-yearly asset verification process. Maintain accurate capital asset codes and manage asset disposals. Prepare and post journals for capital additions and depreciation. Liaise with internal and external auditors. Produce working papers to support year-end audits. Generate budget statements for capital scheme leads. Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the finance ledger. Input additions, enhancements, and adjustments into the Asset Register, ensuring a full audit trail and alignment with the general ledger.
