Essential Requirements:

* Formal training and demonstrable competency in administering and scoring the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
* Relevant professional qualification in Psychology, Speech and Language Therapy, Psychiatry, Nursing, Social Work, or a related healthcare or allied professional discipline.
* Current professional registration, or eligibility for registration, with the appropriate regulatory body where applicable.
* Strong assessment and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret information from multiple sources to support diagnostic decision-making.
* Excellent written communication skills, including experience producing comprehensive clinical reports.
* Effective verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly and compassionately.
* Sound understanding of safeguarding principles, confidentiality requirements, and ethical practice.
* Ability to manage workload effectively, prioritise competing demands, and meet reporting deadlines.
* Capable of working independently while contributing positively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
* Proficient in the use of digital systems, electronic record-keeping platforms, and remote working technologies.


Key Responsibilities:

* Conduct structured autism assessments using recognised diagnostic tools, including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS).
* Gather and analyse developmental, behavioural, and clinical information from a range of sources.
* Contribute to the diagnostic assessment process by integrating findings from interviews, observations, questionnaires, and standardised assessment tools.
* Prepare detailed, accurate, and timely clinical reports that clearly communicate assessment outcomes and recommendations.
* Provide feedback and explain assessment findings to individuals, families, carers, and referring professionals in a clear and sensitive manner.
* Maintain comprehensive and confidential clinical records in line with professional and organisational standards.
* Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical supervision, case discussions, and service development activities.
* Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the ongoing enhancement of assessment services.
* Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant safeguarding, ethical, professional, and clinical governance requirements.
* Promote an inclusive, respectful, and supportive experience for all individuals accessing the service.
