Description
Albany Family Medicine is looking for a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their team. Hours for this role are Monday–Friday, 8am to 5pm.
Note: This position is eligible for up to a $10,000 recruitment and retention bonus.
Responsibilities
* Practice medicine with physician supervision including conducting examinations and writing prescriptions.
* Collaborate with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients.
* Assess patient status by obtaining health history.
* Order/perform laboratory diagnostic and other screening tests.
* Treat illnesses, give injections, suture wounds.
* Monitor therapies and provide continuity of care.
* Counsel patient/family on preventive health care.
* Participate in peer reviews, chart reviews, staff education, clinical guideline development and other continuing education.
Compensation & Benefits
Compensation: $115,000 - $145,000 Annually
CCP salary ranges are designed to be competitive with room for professional and financial growth. Individual compensation is based on factors such as work experience, qualifications, and skills. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay.

Qualifications
Requirements
* License and active registration as a physician assistant or registered nurse/nurse practitioner in New York State.
* Physician Assistant:
o Bachelor's or equivalent degree in physician assistant studies and completion of an NYS Department of Education approved program or accredited program.
o Passing grade on the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (NCCPA).
o Current certification by NCCPA.
o At least one year of experience as a physician assistant in ambulatory health care.
o Current CPR certification.
* Nurse Practitioner:
o Graduation from a nurse practitioner education program acceptable to NYSED.
o Current certification as a nurse practitioner by AANPCB or ANCC.
o Pharmacology coursework acceptable to NYSED.
o Three years of professional nursing experience in an ambulatory setting preferred.
o At least one year of experience as a nurse practitioner in ambulatory health care.
o Current CPR certification.
