Buyer | Mansfield | £40,000 - £50,000 | Construction
An established company based in Mansfield, that is continuously growing year on year, is looking for an experienced Buyer to join their team.
As the Buyer, you will play an integral role in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Providing prices for all materials included in project plans and drawings
* Procured groundworks materials including aggregates, asphalt, steel, drainage, and insulation
* Identifying potential suppliers and new products
* Contacting a range of suppliers and subcontractors to obtain quotations and agree delivery times
* Keeping detailed records and maintaining a well‑organised work schedule
* Assessing the reliability of subcontractors and suppliers
* Dealing effectively with challenges with suppliers and the flow of materials
* Ensuring compliance with the safety, health and environment requirements of materials and services
* Providing advice to the project estimator on the predicted cost of individual items
* Liaising closely with the estimator at the tendering stage to ensure that an accurate project cost is provided
* Preparing and maintaining cost reports in order to maximise efficiency within the business
* Negotiating and agreeing the most favourable terms possible with suppliers once a contract has been secured
Ideal Candidate

* An aptitude for figures and the ability to manage a budget
As the Buyer you will be able to build good relationships with all kinds of people, be persuasive and willing to make decisions and take responsibility for them. In return you will be offered a salary of £40,000 – £50,000 depending on experience.
Working hours are Monday to Friday, full time in the office, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm. Also, you will be offered 21 days holidays plus statutory Bank Holidays. The company offers free onsite parking.
