What does our successful Private Ambulance Crew Team Leader look like? A true professional – who is patient, resilient, with a caring, empathetic, supportive nature. Not easily fazed, comfortable being in the presence of the deceased, and supporting their physical dignified removal. A strong team player but able to work autonomously, with a good understanding of what quality is, and passionate about delivering first class customer care. You will have strong emotional intelligence with empathetic communication skills and be of smart appearance. You will be willing to learn, willing to help others, and have a positive, friendly, flexible, can-do attitude. You will also hold a clean driving licence and drive with care. The Role This role will be road and office based, supporting the Andover Private Ambulance Teams. A flexible approach regarding start/finish times is essential along with flexible days as some weekend work will be required. The Team Leader oversees the Andover Private Ambulance Teams, ensuring that the Company’s policies and procedures are understood and adhered to. You will act as a dedicated point of contact for the Andover Private Ambulance Teams for resolving queries, issues and feedback and ensuring that they are dealt with in a timely manner and work with the management team to drive continued improvements. Key Responsibilities To conduct regular 1:1 meetings with the team to review performance, share ideas and seek areas of improvement or clarification. Collate common issues and personal issues resulting from 1:1 or team meetings and seek resolution within the Company and provide feedback as appropriate. Monitoring absence, including the completion of Return to Work documentation To work alongside the Private Ambulance team either alone or with joint activity with the team. Collaborate with the Scheduling team to feedback on problems and improvements that could be made to the planning cycle. Organise (and participate in) the on-call rota and resource appropriately. Recruit personnel in advance of need to ensure operational efficiency. Lead the induction of new employees to ensure they are compliant with the required standards of performance and Company procedures. Keep visual inspection of the vehicle fleet, flagging any routine checks, planned maintenance and reactive maintenance to the Fleet Manager Monitor the team to ensure they behave appropriately and are presented in a manner that is fit to represent the Company’s brand. Ensuring the Private Ambulance team’s compliance with statutory and company guidelines for appropriate legislation such as Health and Safety and working Time directives. Alerting and informing the Drivers Operations Manager to any potential infringements and make recommendations as to practical remediation’s Act as a team leader to all the Private Ambulance Teams; serving as a role model, coaching and mentoring them to achieve the Company standards and their adherence to policy and procedure Ensure that the mortuary, transfer area and coffin store are used correctly, safely and with consideration to others.
