Crossroads Care Surrey is a registered charity dedicated to supporting unpaid carers across Surrey for over 40 years. We recognise the immense challenges these individuals face and offer a range of quality care services to assist those caring for people of all ages with various health conditions and disabilities. Our trained team of carer support workers and volunteers provides essential help in carers’ homes and communities, allowing them to take much-needed breaks from their caring responsibilities. What we’re looking for
Crossroads Care Surrey is seeking an experienced financial professional to work closely with our Board to provide the confidence and knowledge to make better strategic decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial finance.
We encourage candidates who can help increase the diversity of the Board to make our organisation more inclusive - especially those who have an interest in making a difference to the lives of unpaid carers across Surrey.
Role Description
* Support strategic financial decisions by analysing trends, assessing risks, and identifying opportunities.
* Work collaboratively with the Board, CEO, and Finance team, providing financial insights and guidance.
* Ensure Crossroads Care Surrey complies with all financial and legal obligations.
* Review and advise on financial policies to uphold best practices.
* Help ensure transparency and accountability in all financial reporting to stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
Experience, skills and qualities
We need someone who lives in the county of Surrey (or the surrounding area) who has:
* Be a qualified Accountant or Chartered Accountant and hold a full (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) qualification, or have equivalent experience within a senior finance role.
* Managed schedules of standard objectives, financial statements and reports
* Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to assess financial information.
* Have worked to and have full awareness of current UK accounting standards, relevant legislation, and compliance standards
* Commitment to the organisation’s mission and values, with a collaborative and constructive approach to Board activities.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills to convey financial insights.
