Job Description:

We have an exciting opportunity for specialists with nuclear safety engineering experience or those interested in training in this area to contribute to submarine power systems and future nuclear solutions. Our team of over 100 employees in nuclear safety roles is expanding, with plans to double in the next 4-5 years, focusing on applications such as space, Micro Reactors, nuclear propulsion for the Australian Navy, and nuclear defense solutions with the MoD.

Leadership roles are available within our Safety Engineering department, including technical programme management and team leadership positions. These roles are vital for expanding our safety capabilities and are suitable for candidates with a strong safety background and leadership experience.

Why choose Rolls-Royce? We are a historic brand at the forefront of innovation, providing critical power systems with an emphasis on safety and reliability. We are the sole provider of nuclear propulsion systems for the Royal Navy's submarines and offer various safety career opportunities within this sector.

We provide excellent development opportunities, competitive salaries, and comprehensive benefits such as pensions, bonuses, employee support, and discounts. Our inclusive, digital-first culture promotes continuous learning and career growth.

We seek safety engineers at various experience levels, from new graduates to seasoned specialists. Relevant disciplines include Probabilistic Safety Assessment, Nuclear Safety Case, Human Factors, Safety & Reliability, Safety Coherency, Containment and Consequence, and Criticality. Experience from industries like civil nuclear, oil & gas, chemical processing, or rail is also valued.

Applicants should ideally hold a degree in engineering or a scientific field. Candidates must be UK nationals or dual nationals with MoD approval, and security clearance is required. Rolls-Royce is committed to diversity and inclusion, fostering a caring and inclusive environment where everyone can reach their potential.
