Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Prudhoe
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday
Salary: £65,000 per annum + Company Car
About the Role
An established and growing contractor is seeking an experienced and proactive Senior Quantity
Surveyor to play a pivotal role in the commercial management of contract works across the business.
This is a senior-level position offering significant responsibility and visibility, working closely with the Board of Directors and Senior Management Team. The role would suit a commercially astute
professional with strong attention to detail, excellent financial awareness, and the confidence to
manage key stakeholder relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management
• Manage the submission of contract claims, valuations, and invoices
• Review contract terms and conditions to ensure compliance and minimise commercial risk
• Oversee costing systems and ensure accurate sales invoicing
• Analyse cash flow and ensure costs are updated promptly and accurately
• Produce monthly WIP and Debtors reports for senior leadership
Subcontractor & CIS Management
• Assess and authorise subcontractor invoices and valuations in collaboration with Contracts
Managers and Accounts
• Manage and operate the CIS Scheme, including subcontractor verification and HMRC return
submissions
• Maintain accurate records of subcontractor payments
Reporting & Leadership
• Deliver contract valuations and commercial reports to the Board and Senior Management
Team
• Provide leadership, mentoring and support to an Assistant Quantity Surveyor
• Attend site meetings and visits, offering commercial guidance and oversight
Stakeholder Engagement
• Maintain clear and professional communication with clients and customers
• Build and maintain strong working relationships across operational and finance teams
General Responsibilities
• Carry out duties in a safe, professional and efficient manner
• Support wider business needs as required
About You
• Strong commercial management background within construction or a related sector
• Excellent financial, contractual and commercial understanding
• Confident communicator, comfortable liaising at all levels of an organisation
• Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams
• Knowledge of CIS and experience using financial systems is highly advantageous
• Proactive, detail-focused and commercially driven
