Watch this short clip to discover how Arup are shaping a better world and how you could be a part of it The Opportunity We have an opportunity for an individual with experience in mechanical design in the water industry to join our team and take a role in the delivery of mechanical solutions for our clients. Our mechanical engineers apply their specialist skills to a range of feasibility, design and construction projects as well as supporting the on-going development and application of transformational digital solutions to the design process. You will play a key role in several projects, becoming an integral part of the design teams delivering mechanical designs under a variety of frameworks. You will be joining a technical delivery team working on a wide variety of projects of global and national importance. These are primarily wastewater and clean water treatment works, while the team also look at wastewater and storm-water catchment studies, nature-based regenerative solutions of all kinds and environmental flood mitigation projects across our client frameworks. We would like to speak with people who have: Background of working within the water sector and knowledge of mechanical equipment used in potable water treatment, wastewater and sludge treatment, and network infrastructure projects Relevant degree in mechanical engineering (or equivalent) Working towards Chartered or Incorporated member of the IMechE (or equivalent professional institution). Knowledge of closed loop hydraulics, proficient in open channel hydraulics and also the relevant legislation and standards covering topics such as lifting operations and pressure systems.
