Role Overview:
As the Training & Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in onboarding and continually developing our team. You'll be responsible for all training aspects and your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):
Vetting Management:
Ø Oversee the entire Police vetting process for staff, coordinating with multiple police services.
Ø Ensure compliance with all pre-employment verifications and maintain accurate records for renewals and audits.
Ø Serve as the primary contact for vetting inquiries and support staff through applications, appeals etc.
Training Delivery:
Ø Conduct comprehensive new starter training sessions covering essential topics such as patrol officer roles, use of force, detention of offenders, and more.
Ø Provide ongoing training on company policies, processes, and role-specific knowledge.
Ø Evaluate learning outcomes to ensure understanding and compliance.
Ø Provide specific training in courses in relation to CSAS (Community Safety Accreditation Scheme) to internal as well as external individuals.
Continual Staff Development:
Ø Collaborate with the HR Manager to ensure training compliance and arrange external training sessions.
Ø Identify areas for development and implement additional training through e-learning or face-to-face sessions.
Ø Regularly review and update training programs to ensure they are bespoke and fit for purpose.
Ø Work with training providers that provide external training for Parkguard, evaluate the quality of training and maintain internal training interval requirements.
Role requirements:
Ø Proven track record of developing and implementing training programmes with extensive knowledge gained in effective staff development practices.
Ø Strong knowledge of (or experience in) Policing and Community Safety.
Ø Excellent presentation skills and competent in MS365 as well as general IT competency.
Ø Level 3 qualification in Education & Training (or willingness to obtain).
Ø Valid driving licence and own transport (office location not accessible via public transport).
Ø Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Ø Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ø Excellent organisational and project management skills, with a keen eye for efficiency and detail.
Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with external organisations
We would also be very interested in other skills that will benefit the business, for example Marketing experience, HR experience, Health & Safety experience etc.
The Training and Development Manager position is a full-time permanent role, working Monday to Friday, 9-hour days typically between the hours of 07:00 and 18:00 (depending on operational requirements). The role requires a minimum of 45 hours per week, however occasional overtime may be available/required. The hourly rate of pay for the role is £17.00 per hour, equating to an annual basic salary of £39,780.00 and a performance related bonus scheme up to a maximum of £2,000.00.
