This role has specific responsibility for providing dedicated support to the Leveraged Finance and Capital Markets practice areas for all of the activities outlined below as well as supporting other practice areas as required by the Marketing & Business Development Manager


Business Development and Strategy:

* Planning & Strategy: Working with the Marketing & Business Development Manager and the partners to consider and develop high level practice area marketing and BD objectives and plans consistent with and in accordance with London office wide objectives. Responsibility for pursuing and actioning agreed objectives.
* Pitches/Bids: Work with the partners and fee-earners in the production of highly tailored professional credential statements, pitch documents, client presentations and other marketing materials. To add value by advising fee earners on the most relevant and appropriate approach and content.
* Experience & Credentials: Collect and maintain representative matters, deals lists, client and industry lists for use in marketing materials. Identify areas where improvements and efficiencies can be made to make the process more effective and feed London matters into the global experience database.
* Research & CRM: Compiling research on existing and prospective client relationships, competitor activity, and industry or market trends to aid in the development of marketing plans, presentations and proposals. Supporting on other strategic client targeting and CRM initiatives as needed.


Communications & PR:

* External Communications / Profile: Pro-actively suggest and develop initiatives and opportunities to build profile for the London office, individuals and practice areas (internally and, as appropriate, externally) by (amongst other things) appropriate speaking/sponsorship opportunities, publicising victories and news items, events, articles and client alerts on traditional and new media platforms. Influence and encourage fee earners to provide content and to engage themselves with social media.
* Promotional Collateral: Coordinate the regular update of web and print marketing collateral, including attorney biographies, practice area/office brochures, and related documentation. Identify areas where improvements and efficiencies can be made to ensure materials are kept up-to-date and are more user friendly and fit-for-purpose.
* Internal Communications: Be pro-active in contributing to the internal office newsletter, internal intranet admin and practice pages and other internal initiatives and events.
* Client Mailings: Manage the production, editing and mailing of regular external communications including client alerts and invitations to client events utilising Concep.
* Submissions: Efficiently coordinate and manage legal directory submissions and industry award applications. Pro-actively consider opportunities to improve this process and rankings and pro-actively research opportunities to submit
* PR: Work with firm’s public relations agency/team on relevant announcements for new including closed standout deals, awards and publications/conference speaking opportunities and anything else newsworthy.


Events:

* Client Events: Assist in the planning and management of client seminars, receptions and other marketing-oriented events including: drafting/mailing invitations, attending the event, measuring ROI and ensuring participant follow up.


Marketing Infrastructure:

* InterAction: Be familiar with all functionalities of IA and IMO and to be responsible for championing the tool in the London office across practice areas in accordance with London marketing objectives. Specific responsibility for leading the effort to establish a workable system in London in accordance with IT and marketing technology in New York.


Other:

* Other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.

The Firm reserves the right to vary or amend the duties and responsibilities of the role at any time, in line with the needs of the business.

* Three or more years' relevant experience within a professional services firm, preferably legal. Multi-jurisdictional proposal experience is preferred.
* Experience of working with relationship partners, fee earners and senior support management in an international law firm or professional services firm on proposal activities.
* Proven experience in project managing and coordinating production of multi-jurisdictional and multi-practice proposals (including panel and project/matter-specific RFPs).
* Experience using InterAction.
* A proven track record of planning and delivering against objectives and of delivery against tight deadlines.
* Experience in deal databases.
* Resilient and robust with proven ability to challenge and motivate partners, associates and BD staff at all levels in order to gain buy-in.
* Excellent customer service skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey departmental procedures and objectives in a professional and tactful manner.
* Ability to take initiative and to work both independently and in a team environment with a strong customer service focus.
* Confident in handling confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion.
