Senior Agricultural Engineer
Workshop & Field – St Cyrus & Turriff, Scotland – £55,247–£62,899 DOE, Overtime (1.5x), Weekend Work (2x), Relocation Support, Pension, Holiday.
The Job: If you’re a seasoned engineer who knows their way around a tractor in the middle of harvest pressure, this role values your experience. We’re working with a well‑established agricultural dealership looking to bring in a Senior Agricultural Engineer to strengthen their team across St Cyrus and Turriff. You’ll work with premium machinery, including Fendt, in a modern, well‑equipped environment with strong backing from manufacturer training. This role suits someone who enjoys being hands‑on, solving problems quickly, and keeping farmers moving when it matters most.
Key responsibilities:
* Service, maintain and repair a wide range of agricultural machinery
* Work both in the workshop and out on farm in a fully equipped service van
* Diagnose faults across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
* Carry out major repairs on engines, transmissions and key components
* Support and mentor junior engineers where required
* Use manufacturer systems to log jobs and raise technical cases
* Complete job cards, reports and service records accurately
* Attend breakdowns and respond efficiently to minimise downtime
* Maintain high standards of health, safety and workshop organisation
The Candidate:
* Strong experience in agricultural, plant, HGV or heavy engineering
* Confident with diagnostics and complex fault finding
* Can work independently on farm and take ownership of jobs
* Comfortable using digital systems and service portals
* Communicates well with farmers, operators and colleagues
* Brings a solid work ethic and takes pride in doing the job right
* Holds a full UK driving licence
* Willing to put in extra hours during peak seasons when needed
* Team that understands agriculture doesn’t stop at 5pm
