Join our pioneering Department of Older Persons’ Services (DOPS) as a Consultant in Geriatric Medicine. You will work alongside senior medical staff, including Consultants and SAS doctors, to evolve existing services and develop novel ones.
As a senior member of the team you will:
* Provide evidence‑based care in a multidisciplinary setting and take administrative responsibility for your cohort of patients.
* Participate in regular MDT discussions and multidisciplinary rounds on the main geriatric wards, Orthogeriatric Trauma ward and the Older Persons’ Short Stay Unit (TOPSSU).
* Co‑manage a daily ward/board round input while supporting junior doctors, registrars and associate specialists.
* Develop sub‑specialty interests, contribute to audit and maintain professional competence.
* Teach, examine and carry out accreditation duties for undergraduate, postgraduate and continuing medical education.
* Provide cover for colleagues during leave as per Trust policy and participate in an out‑of‑hours consultant rota.
* Engage in clinical audit and continuing medical education activities.

Qualifications & Eligibility
* Within six months of completing CCT or holding a current CCT (or equivalent) in Geriatric and General (Internal) Medicine.
* Trained in all aspects of General Medicine and Geriatric Internal Medicine.
* Strong communication skills and a commitment to patient‑centred care.
* Special interests in geriatric medicine are encouraged and supported.
* Willing to work full‑time or part‑time; flexible rosters available.
