Out of School Club Assistant or Playworker
Salary: up to £13.69 per hour plus overtime paid from holiday work
Post: 1 x part-time 18 hours per week
Term time hours: Breakfast Club 7.30am – 9.00am and After School Club 3.00pm – 6.00pm
The Role
We wish to appoint an Out of School Club Assistant or Playworker to join our team from September. The hours of work are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday mornings and afternoons, offering flexibility for other commitments.
This position is suitable for a Teaching Assistant seeking additional hours or a Teacher looking to step away from the pressures of teaching while still working with children in a part-time environment. Candidates should have experience working with children.
Alternatively, the Playworker role is ideal for someone wanting to broaden their experience in childcare, with some experience in working with children, such as in brownie/scout groups or play-based settings. Candidates must hold a relevant childcare qualification and have experience in classroom or out-of-school settings.
We are seeking a dynamic, energetic, and well-organized individual to assist in our Out of School Club. Experience in delivering sport, dance, or creative activities is welcome. Your role will be to ensure all children are safe, feel secure, and receive high-quality care, building trusting relationships with children aged 4-9 and providing positive feedback to parents and carers. You must adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Holiday hours
Staff are required to cover holiday club hours from 8:00am to 6:00pm, working their contracted hours (18 hours) during holidays, paid as additional overtime. The holiday program runs during February, May, October half-term, Easter, and summer holidays.
Holiday leave
The role includes 6 weeks of leave plus days during holidays when not required to work: 2 weeks at Christmas, 1 week at Easter, and 3 weeks during summer, in addition to holiday club non-working days.
Safeguarding
Kings Priory School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. All staff and volunteers must share this commitment. The appointment is subject to an enhanced DBS check and other pre-employment checks.
