About the role
Reporting to: Category Manager Based: Equity House, Wellingborough
Job Summary Maximising the profitability of specified product categories, improving customer satisfaction, and cash profit.
An exciting opportunity is available in our Alcohol team. The role of Category Manager - Designate is a developmental role to allow you to grow into the role of Category Manager. Supported by a mentor and a development program you will, over the course of 2/3 years build deep knowledge and understanding of the business, the Product function and your product portfolio.
Main Responsibilities
8. The development and implementation of category plans ensuring delivery of sales, margin and profit are met whilst maintaining continuity of product availability.
9. Source and manage products to grow both brand and own brand sales and profitability.
10. Work with suppliers to deliver best availability, profitability and customer satisfaction.
11. Seek and react to customer feedback to help shape the category plan.
12. Develop and communicate a category plan for the relevant product category.
13. Ensure product range reflects customer needs, follows the principles of good, better and best.
14. Communicate and develop relationships across other parts of the business, supply chain, sales teams and operations.
15. Following our Business Code of Conduct and always acting with integrity and due diligence championing diversity and inclusion.

17. Be able to work independently, to problem solve and make commercial decisions.
18. Attention to detail, writing of reports, interpreting data and keeping of accurate records.
