Job Title: Compliance Manager

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 PA (Dependent on experience)

My client are one of the UKs largest logistics providers - offering specialist services to the airfreight industry. They now have a fantastic opportunity for a Compliance Manager to join the team in Manchester.
Objectives:
* To establish, promote and develop a positive safety culture throughout the company, to ensure legal obligations towards Health, Safety and Compliance are met
* Retain ISO 9001:2015 standard, and continue implementing throughout the business
* Work in conjuction with senior managers across all sites to standardise current practices
* Maintain and continuously improve the procedures relating to good distribution practice for pharmaceutical transport
* Maintain the company’s security management system and positive security culture throughout the business, meeting the requirements of the CAA’s SeMS standard. Ensure continuing compliance with regards the DfT requirements for transport and storage of high consequence dangerous goods (HCDG)
* Achieve and retain AEO status
* Work in conjunction with the ESG Manager to develop and maintain appropriate procedures to ensure compliance with the CSRD
Job Duties:
* Maintain current knowledge of health and safety legislation. Filter and analyse relevant changes and implement throughout the management team on a monthly basis, providing guidance and support where needed
* Produce and maintain health and safety policies, procedures and SOPs/SSoWs related to health and safety and assist with promotion and implementation throughout the sites
* Develop and implement a programme for all mandatory training requirements within the business. Record and monitor to ensure future recurring training requirements are fulfilled
* Drive continual improvement of Health and Safety performance
* Establish relationships with governing bodies to ensure compliance in line with recommendations
* Ensure all near misses, incidents and accidents are investigated and reported both internally and externally as appropriate. Root cause analysis and corrective actions to be communicated throughout the management team/workforce
* Develop and maintain documents relating to the quality management system to ensure continuin compliance to ISO 9001:2015
* Ensure all equipment inspections are carried out in accordance with current legislation and at required intervals - to include, but not limited to PAT, LOLER, PUWER, racking, radiation (x-ray machines) and scales
* Produce and control documentation in relation to the CAA security management systems (SeMS) standard, including policies, procedures and other required documents
* Ensure continuing compliance with regards to the DfT’s requirements for storage and transport of HCDG including maintaining documents and liaising with the DfT
* Develop relevant internal audit programmes for all compliance matters, including health & safety, security, pharmaceuticals, quality, SeMS and others as required
* Manage the day-to-day compliance for pharmaceutical transport
* Ensure all equipment required for compliance to GDP standards
* Aid the ESG Manager with development, monitoring and continual improvement of the ESG management system in line with the CSRD
* Develop, maintain and continuously improve a customs management system in line with Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status
Individual Requirements:
* Fully aware of current legislation in all key areas
* Excellent time management and planning ability
* Excellent communication and IT skills
* Must be able to work in a fast paced business and offer rapid support to all sites
* Will be based in Manchester, but must be flexible to attend any UK site as required
* Degree educated in a related subject and / or 5+ years’ experience in a similar role
* Safety driven with the ability to deliver change to an established workforce
* Decisive and Confident to deliver strategies to Senior Management and Directors
* Strives for continual improvement and unperturbed by change
Skills/Experience:
* Health & Safety qualification (IOSH Managing Safely Minimum - NEBOSH preferred)
* Experience developing and maintaining management systems
* Experience in auditing
