We have an exciting opportunity for a General Practitioner to join our team at HMP Full Sutton.
About The Role
HMP Full Sutton is a busy category A and B men’s prison in the village of Full Sutton in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The site supports around 560 men aged 21+ with a range of health conditions including a high number of complex needs. In this role you will be delivering clinical sessions, segregation rounds and providing daily acute support within the main population and specialist units.
We are looking for a General Practitioner who has a passion for working with patients who are disconnected from the healthcare service and who is keen to work as part of an established team.
Hours
AM session – 08:00‑12:00
PM session – 12:00‑16:00
Working: Mon, Thurs or Fri
This part‑time role works 12 hrs or 3 sessions per week. Sessions can be worked across 2 or 3 days.
Salary
You’ll receive an annual salary up to £126,500 per annum FTE – depending on experience.

What You’ll Be Doing
* Deliver first‑class healthcare to a diverse group of patients and further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually encounter within a practice or A&E environment.
* Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patients’ requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
* Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at the site, and work with patients in an active manner.
* Involve yourself in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK. Due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.
What We’ll Look For
* MBChB or MBBS
* Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
* Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
* Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
* Evidence of continuing professional development
* Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
* RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
