Job Overview
We have an exciting opportunity to join the Heatherwood Therapy Team as a Band 6 Physiotherapist. The post is fixed for eight months to cover maternity leave. This post would be suitable for an experienced Band 5 or someone who is interested in working in elective Orthopaedics.
The post will involve working across both Private and NHS services covering our day surgery and inpatient units.
The post holder is expected to work flexibly across a seven day service covering 0700-1930 Monday to Saturday and 0800-1600 on Sundays.
Responsibilities
Main duties of the job
* To provide a high standard physiotherapy service in assessing and treating patients who may have a complex presentations
* To supervise and teach recently qualified physiotherapists/technicians/assistants and students and be involved in teaching MDT staff.
* To participate in CPD and other departmental activities.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
* HCPC registration
* Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy.
Desirable criteria
* Member of relevant clinical interest group.
* Clinical educators training.
Experience
Essential criteria
* Experience of working on elective Orthopaedic ward/unit
* Experience of supervising staff
* Evidence of recent study in relevant clinical area.
Desirable criteria
* Experience of audit/QIP
* Experience in development of a project or service.
Skills & Knowledge
Essential criteria
* Demonstrate up to date knowledge of best clinical practice in relevant specialty.
* Understanding of professional ethics and their application in practice.
* Interpersonal skills including clear, concise and effective verbal and written reports.
* Computer literacy.
* Organisational skills.
Desirable criteria
* Basic knowledge of health legislation.
* Basic management skills.
* Be able to work single handedly and in groups.
