We are currently working with a not-for-profit housing provider with properties across Surrey and helping them find suitable candidates for a temporary Income Officer. This role is paying between £22-25 per hour via Umbrella company depending on experience.
The role is full time, initially a 2-month contract, and would be covering a patch of properties across Surrey. Our client offers hybrid work, with 3 days working from home and 2 days being based in office or on patch.
A brief of the role is below, to apply candidates must have access to a car and have a valid driving license:
1. Act as the first point of contact for customers and colleagues, handling a wide range of income related calls and queries from residents
2. Manage, collect, and recover debt from former tenant arrears and non-rent charges
3. Effectively reduce all accounts in arrears to meet monthly individual and team targets
4. Ensure that tenants are managed effectively within the policies, service plan and strategies of the organisation
5. Negotiate an acceptable level of repayment of arrears explaining legal implications of non-compliance
6. Manage referrals to the court service to ensure appropriate legal (where possible DIY court action) and recovery action is taken
7. Assist vulnerable tenants by making referrals to support services and liaising with support workers and other staff
