About the Role
Bracknell Forest Council is seeking a dedicated Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team. This role offers a £6,000 Welcome Payment (subject to T&Cs) and an annual 4% Retention Payment after two years. You will be part of an “Outstanding” Children’s Social Care service (Ofsted, December 2025), working in a supportive environment with manageable caseloads, high-quality supervision, and a strong commitment to improving children’s lives.
You will manage a caseload of Child in Need, Child Protection, Care Proceedings, and Children Looked After cases. Using the Family Safeguarding Model and Motivational Interviewing, you will collaborate with families and multi-disciplinary teams to safeguard children and promote recovery.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and implement effective safeguarding plans
* Work alongside professionals in multi-disciplinary teams
* Manage caseloads across Child in Need, Child Protection, Care Proceedings, and Children Looked After
* Respond to concerns through the team duty system
* Prioritise workload to meet deadlines for visits, reports, and interventions
* Participate in reflective supervision and set clear intervention strategies
* Maintain accurate case records in compliance with GDPR and departmental policies
Candidate Requirements
* Recognised Social Work qualification
* Registration with Social Work England
* Completion of ASYE
* Experience in frontline social work (Child in Need and Child Protection)
* Knowledge of safeguarding legislation, guidance, and thresholds
* Experience in multi-agency working and co-producing safety plans
* Strong analytical, assessment, and recording skills
* Experience of mental health difficulties (lived or professional)
Compensation and Benefits
* Salary/Pay: £46,783–£48,873 per year (inclusive of London Weighting and Essential Car User Allowance)

Timeline
