Material Recovery Facilities Plant Operative
At Cheshire West Recycling, we’re looking for a Materials Recovery Facilities Plant Operative on a Fixed Term Contract ending 31/03/2026 (with the possibility to become permanent). This role is based at our Canalside Hub, Ellesmere Port. Working 2.00pm - 10.00pm shift, Monday - Friday.
Job Purpose
The post holder may be involved in working in various operational areas, including but not limited to Refuse Collection, Recycling, Street Cleansing, Grounds Maintenance, and other duties within the Services Division. Responsibilities include manual support to services, ensuring high-quality, cost-effective service delivery, and compliance with Health & Safety legislation and company policies. You must report any issues affecting your performance or the services to your line manager immediately.
Principal Accountabilities
* Establish working relationships with Managers, Supervisors, and staff.
* Carry out responsibilities efficiently and safely, prioritizing Health & Safety.
* When operating plant, perform daily checks and drive safely and courteously within legal tolerances.
* Complete all operational tasks to specification and to the satisfaction of Supervisors and Management.
* Finish assigned work within specified times and notify your Supervisor before leaving the workplace.
* Maintain professional conduct at all times, avoiding actions that could disrepute the Company, clients, or agents.
* Follow instructions from authorized personnel at all times.
Note
The job holder may be required to undertake any work deemed appropriate by the Manager, consistent with their responsibilities. Flexibility to work across multiple locations as per business needs is expected.
