Your new role
As Head of Procurement, you will lead and develop a team of Category and Sourcing Managers, setting priorities, performance expectations and annual objectives. You will oversee the delivery of strategic procurement activities across a complex portfolio, ensuring category strategies, sourcing decisions and supplier relationships align with organisational goals. This is a strategic role suited to a commercial leader who thrives in a busy, collaborative environment.Key responsibilities include:
* Developing, implementing and maintaining complex category strategies
* Securing governance approvals and ensuring assurance requirements are met
* Leading supplier relationship management and contract management
* Driving efficiency, sustainability, value for money and continuous improvement
* Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the organisation
* Providing expert commercial advice to procurement teams and wider departments
What you'll need to succeed
* Extensive experience developing and delivering category management strategies
* Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop high-performing procurement teams
* Strong influencing and stakeholder-engagement skills at all levels
* Commercial acumen and the ability to identify and deliver improvement opportunities
* Experience managing a varied, complex procurement portfolio
* Excellent coordination, organisation and prioritisation skills
* A collaborative leadership style and commitment to continuous improvement
