We are looking for smart, motivated and self-driven people to join our team, who want to play a role in shaping a new facet of the energy industry. We have a vacancy for a Junior Power Trader to join our team. The role will require you to gain a deep understanding of the electricity market dynamics and of automatic trading functioning to contribute to the growth of the business.
Key responsibilities will include:
* Monitoring the execution of algorithmic trading strategies in the market
* Managing open risk in the market as needed
* Adjusting the algorithm's parameters and identifying new trading strategies, together with senior traders and data scientists
* Testing new strategies and analyzing market data
* Post-trade analysis to ensure we are capturing the right opportunities
* Identifying improvements to our tools and processes
* Producing market analysis pieces as requested by Senior Traders
The role will require flexibility to work to cover a rota including some early and later shifts, weekends and Bank Holidays from our centrally located Paddington office. A portion of the training will take place in Krakow, where the development team sits. We’re looking for someone who is a great fit for our company. Requirements:
* Strong numerical and problem-solving skills
* The ability to simplify and communicate complex issues
* Python experience is a must.
Extra credit if you can demonstrate:
* An understanding of market dynamics, especially the UK and European prompt power markets
* Model building experience
* An interest in Poker or other risk based activities
