English Teacher – Part Time ( FTE)
Location: Taunton, Somerset
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Temporary – until Easter 2027
Pay: Main Teacher Pay Scale (MPS)
Working Pattern: 3 days per week ( FTE)
Prospero Teaching is working closely with a secondary school in Taunton who are seeking a qualified English Teacher to join their department on a part‑time basis (3 days per week / FTE) from September until Easter.
This is a full class teacher role with full responsibility for planning, marking, and assessment, making it an excellent opportunity for an English specialist looking for a long‑term, part‑time position.
The Role:
1. Teaching English across KS3 and/or KS4 (depending on experience)
2. Planning and delivering engaging English lessons in line with the national curriculum
3. Full responsibility for marking, assessment, and pupil progress
4. Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment
5. Working collaboratively with the English department and wider school team
The Ideal Candidate:
6. Holds QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent
7. Is a specialist English Teacher with UK secondary teaching experience
8. Can commit to 3 days per week ( FTE) from September until Easter
9. Demonstrates strong classroom management and subject knowledge
10. Is organised, reliable, and confident taking on full teaching responsibilities
