Freelance Project Manager – Cut & Carve / Student Accommodation – Southampton - £300 Per Day\n\n📍 Location: Southampton City Centre\n💷 Rate: £300 per day\n🕒 Start: Immediate\n📅 Contract Type: Freelance (3 Months)\n📞 Reporting to: Visiting Construction Director\n\nWe are seeking an experienced Freelance Project Manager to lead a complex £3 million cut-and-carve conversion project in Southampton city centre. The scheme involves the full internal strip-out and structural reconfiguration of an existing building to deliver 41 high-quality private student rooms.\n\nThis is an immediate opportunity for a capable lead with proven site-based management experience and strong coordination skills on refurbishment and structural alteration projects.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\n * Act as the lead site presence, managing all works from mobilisation to completion.\n\n * Oversee full internal strip-out, structural alterations, M&E coordination, and high-spec fit-out.\n\n * Coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and third-party consultants.\n\n * Maintain site safety, quality control, and programme delivery.\n\n * Report to a visiting Construction Director with weekly updates and progress reporting.\n\n * Chair daily briefings and manage construction logistics in a busy city-centre environment.\n\nRequired Experience\n\n * Proven track record as a Project Manager or Senior Site Manager on cut-and-carve, structural, or residential conversion projects.\n\n * Comfortable leading teams independently and resolving on-site issues.\n\n * Excellent understanding of structural works, phasing, and sequencing.\n\n * Able to manage fast-paced delivery and multiple trades.\n\n * SMSTS, CSCS (Black/White Card), and First Aid required
