Key Duties And Responsibilities
* Exceptional Subject Delivery: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging English Language and Literature lessons across all key stages (Key Stage 3, GCSE, A Level) in line with the Welsh curriculum and specifications.
* Assessment and Feedback: Mark and assess pupils' work accurately and productively, providing high‑quality written and oral feedback to ensure pupils make excellent progress.
* Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development of the English curriculum, resources, and schemes of work to enhance learning and maintain departmental excellence.
* Classroom Management: Establish a positive, safe, and stimulating learning environment, managing pupil behaviour effectively to ensure a supportive atmosphere for all.
* Wider School Life: Undertake pastoral duties (such as acting as a form tutor), attend staff meetings, and participate in school extra‑curricular activities and professional development (CPD).
* Statutory Compliance: Adhere to all school policies, especially those relating to safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety.
Skills Needed
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is mandatory.
