Youth Justice Case Manager
Location: Trinity Road, Bootle, L20 3NJ

Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week
Pay Rate: £ 20.88 per hour

Job Responsibilities
* Manage and lead children's cases, coordinating support and interventions.
* Focus on specific areas to improve programs and share best practices.
* Work with the council and partners to manage high-risk children.
* Assess children's needs and risks, ensuring protective and supportive services are provided.
* Make complex decisions using professional judgment and evidence-based tools.
* Create and review multi-agency plans to reduce risks and prevent reoffending.
* Work directly with children and families as per intervention plans.
* Prepare detailed reports for panels and courts.
* Represent the service at meetings and attend court when needed.
* Ensure quality assurance and participate in peer reviews.
* Chair reviews for children under intervention.
* Use the Case Management System to keep records updated and of high quality.
* Report risks and vulnerabilities through appropriate channels.
* Stay informed about service development plans and policies.
* Identify practice improvements and contribute to service development.
* Participate in office duty rota system and seek supervision.
* Evaluate own performance and seek development opportunities.
* Comply with policies and participate in mandatory training.
* Ensure data protection and confidentiality.
* Perform other duties as required, including some evening and weekend work.
Personal Specification
Must Have:
Qualifications:
* Relevant professional qualification in social work, probation studies, or youth/criminal justice.
Experience:
* Significant experience in assessing children's needs and creating intervention plans.
* Knowledge of youth justice work and safeguarding.
Skills:
* Knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and related legislation.
* Experience in working with at-risk children and delivering interventions.
* Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
* Ability to complete assessments and develop tailored plans.
* Good planning and organizational skills.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
* Proficient in using ICT systems for case management.
* Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Special Requirements:
* Able to pass an Enhanced DBS check.
* Valid driving license with access to a vehicle.
* Legally entitled to work in the UK.
* The Council has a no-smoking policy in the workplace.
