Venari Legal is delighted to be recruiting for our client, who is seeking a Senior In-House Solicitor to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced lawyer to work as a Managing Lawyer within a dynamic and innovative environment, representing one of the UK's most iconic brands.
The successful candidate will manage the client's commercial contracts, including technology and outsourcing agreements, third-party supplier arrangements, and other business-related contracts. This role involves supervising a team of lawyers and paralegals, working directly with business partners, and contributing to the development of legal services.
The client has established a dedicated team to support this work, functioning alongside the in-house legal team. This position is ideal for experienced lawyers looking to extend their in-house legal experience by:
* Managing and supervising legal team members;
* Shaping innovative legal service delivery models;

* Gaining deeper insight into the client's business through close collaboration with the in-house team.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will lead a high-performing team to deliver comprehensive commercial contract services, including drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and advising on contracts. Emphasis will be placed on technological solutions and ownership of contracts.
You will collaborate with the in-house legal team and other stakeholders, maintaining high-quality client service and developing strong client relationships.

* Build and maintain a close working relationship with the client;
* Allocate legal work to team members;
* Manage team capacity, quality, and availability;
* Set and review team objectives;
* Contribute to financial and operational reporting;
* Coordinate work allocation across in-house and external teams;
* Attend client and internal meetings;
* Assist with quoting for legal work;
* Provide onboarding training for new team members;
* Support the development of precedents and playbooks;
* Participate in legal, technology, and operational improvement initiatives;
* Advise on commercial contracts and legal queries.
Required experience, skills, and attributes
* Experience working on media contracts;
* Experience managing a legal team’s workload;
* Technology awareness;
* Experience with sophisticated clients is desirable;
* Exceptional drafting, legal research, and analytical skills.
