Get Golfing CIO - Golf Operations Assistant
Get Golfing CIO is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Golf Operations Assistant to join the team at Warley Park Golf Club. As a charity supporting struggling golf facilities in England, we are passionate about preserving and reviving the sport of golf by providing exceptional experiences for our members and visitors.
The Role
The Golf Operations Assistant will help deliver a smooth and efficient operation for all users of the golf course, ensuring attentive and efficient service while enhancing the overall customer and member experience. They will use Get Golfing's golf management software, ‘Golf Manager', to ensure a high-quality experience for the club's members, guests, and visitors. This is a casual position at minimum wage.
Responsibilities
1. Daily Golf Operations: Manage all aspects of daily golf operations, optimise tee-time reservations to maximise revenues, ensure efficient course flow, and implement Get Golfing's ‘pairing up' policy to maximise playing opportunities.
2. Golf Retail: Maintain the golf shop inventory, supervise the upkeep of golf buggies, rental clubs, and essential equipment, ensuring they remain in excellent condition. Ensure buggy rentals have signed liability forms.
3. Customer Service: Communicate with other Golf Ops assistants, marshals, and starters to provide excellent service. Address customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints professionally, maintaining high standards of integrity.
4. Golf Days & Societies: Manage golf day and society experiences, ensuring value for money and optimal scheduling to encourage repeat bookings. Upsell buggies, trolleys, clubs, and retail items.
5. Event & Tournament Support: Assist in organizing and running club competitions, corporate days, and tournaments, including scoring and player coordination.
6. Health & Safety: Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including cart operation, course regulations, and emergency procedures.
7. Communication: Liaise with grounds staff to relay course conditions, maintenance schedules, and player concerns.
Requirements
1. Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
2. Genuine passion for golf and understanding of the game and industry.
3. Proficiency in ‘Golf Manager' software and Microsoft Office Suite.
4. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
5. Proactive, results-oriented, and strategic thinking.
6. Ability to work independently and make effective decisions.
7. Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.
8. Strong work ethic and understanding of golf demands.
