Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic English Lead to promote the learning of pupils in one of our inspirational PRU Settings in Newcastle on a full-time and long-term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long-term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development.
About the Role:
1. The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative English lessons that inspire pupils with a wide range of SEN and allows all pupils to make progress.
2. Working with Secondary aged pupils within a PRU setting who have a wide range of SEN and challenging behaviour on a 1:1 basis and in small Intervention groups
3. The role will involve designing, planning and implementing an English curriculum
4. Managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner
5. Differentiating lessons appropriately to suit the needs and earning styles of all pupils.
6. Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress
7. Displaying high levels of enthusiasm, energy and positivity when working with children.
8. Working effectively with Teaching Assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience
About the School:
9. The role is based in an inspirational PRU setting in Newcastle.
10. The School supports pupils across the Secondary School age range who have been excluded from mainstream Education
Pay, Hours and Contract:
11. Pay – Between £140-220 per day
12. Hours –
13. Contract – Full-time until the end of the Academic Year in July 2025. Temporary Contract.

15. Location – Newcastle
Experience/Qualifications and Requirements:
16. An Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you)
17. English Teaching experience
18. Strong Behaviour Management skills
19. Experience of utilising a range of methods to assess pupil progress
20. Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to build rapport
21. A positive and resilient attitude towards Teaching and work
22. A genuine passion for Teaching and supporting young people develop their skills
23. Strong organisation and communication skills
