CONTROL ENGINEER: LIVERPOOL. FANTASTIC GROWING COMPANY AND KEY ROLE WITHIN THE BUSINESS. £45-55K PLC EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL.\n\nThe Company\n\nOur client is a well established provider of specialist engineering services and products to the pharmaceutical, life science and process industries.
Their highly skilled engineering team collaborate with clients and adapt to their needs to achieve successful outcomes.\n\nThe Role\n\nAs part of their continued growth our client is looking for a Control Systems Engineer.\n\nJob purpose\n\nTo design, implement, control systems for manufacturing equipment, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., ATEX, GAMP, FDA, SIL). The role involves configuring Siemens and Allen Bradley systems, developing electrical designs in Eplan 8, and producing comprehensive documentation packages (FDS, cable schedules, etc.) to ensure the safe, validated, and efficient operation of automated pharmaceutical processes.\n\nDuties and responsibilities\n\n * Design and develop control systems using Siemens and Allen Bradley software (e.g., S7, TIA Portal, RSLogix, Studio 5000).\n\n * Create and maintain electrical schematics and panel layouts using Eplan 8.\n\n * Develop detailed documentation including:\n\n * Functional Design Specifications (FDS)\n\n * Cable Schedules\n\n * Instrument Schedules\n\n * I/O Lists and Wiring Diagrams\n\n * IQ/OQ documents\n\n * Collaborate with cross-functional teams including project managers, mechanical engineers, process engineers, EC&I Technicians and clients.\n\n * Provide support with FAT’s and on-site for system installation, testing, and commissioning.\n\n * Troubleshoot and resolve control system issues.\n\n * Ensure designs comply with relevant industry standards and safety regulations.\n\nQualifications/Skills Required\n\n * Degree preferred, minimum HNC in Electrical Eng, Automation or similar\n\n * Experience in panel design, instrumentation or automation projects\n\n * Experience with Siemens (S7, TIA Portal) & Allen Bradley systems\n\n * Familiarity with SCADA & HMI systems\n\n * Proficient in EPlan 8 or similar electrical design packages\n\n * Strong documentation skill’s with experience of control system documentation packs\n\n * Problem solving and trouble shooting skills\n\nWorking conditions\n\nThe role will be office based but will require an incumbent to also work on the manufacturing floor on occasion during project life cycles.
