Criminal Solicitor – Nottingham (Hybrid)
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Criminal Solicitor to join a highly regarded and well-established firm with offices across the East Midlands. This role offers the chance to work within a dedicated and expert Criminal Defence team, handling a wide range of matters from police station representation through to Crown Court advocacy.
The Role:
As a Criminal Solicitor, you will play a key role in providing professional, accessible and supportive advice to clients at what is often a very challenging time. The work will cover:
1. Police station attendance and representation
2. Magistrates’ Court and Crown Court advocacy
3. Preparation and progression of criminal defence cases, from minor offences to serious crime
4. Advising on areas including assaults, drugs offences, motoring offences, theft and fraud, sexual offences, and regulatory matters
You will have the opportunity to manage your own caseload with support from an experienced team of colleagues, and will also have access to excellent facilities to support hybrid working.
About You:
5. Qualified Solicitor or equivalent with experience in Criminal Defence work
6. Duty accreditation desirable, but not essential
7. Strong advocacy, client care and communication skills
8. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team
9. Commercial awareness and an understanding of Legal Aid funding would be advantageous
