Job Description
Major Duties:
Lead a team of Mechatronics Integrators in designing and integrating automation equipment and executing projects.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Team Leadership:
* Serve as the single point of contact for your team for work delegation, requests, and issue escalation.
* Supervise, train, and guide all team members.
* Ensure team performance meets departmental and project milestones and KPIs.
* Foster an environment of creativity, efficiency, and collaboration.
* Communicate company and departmental objectives to the team.
* Evaluate performance and conduct regular reviews.
* Hold regular 1:1 meetings for development and coaching.
* Oversee project costs and schedules.
* Review and approve work products for functionality, standards, accuracy, and safety.
* Encourage continuous improvement and support implementation of suggestions.
* Collaborate with managers to set goals and manage performance.
* Ensure health and safety procedures are followed and maintain team safety.
* Provide job-specific training and written instructions as needed.
* Understand all team roles to cover during absences.
1. Individual Contribution:
* Assist mechanical design teams with mechanical designs, simulations, and calculations.
* Ensure completion of configuration sheets and inputs for application coding.
* Transition projects into the integration phase, working through FAT and SAT.
* Drive integration activities, track progress, and coordinate plans.
* Use problem-solving tools to address issues and improve processes.
* Travel to install equipment and support SAT and field operations if needed.
Qualifications
Education: Post-secondary diploma, degree, or equivalent in electrical, mechanical, mechatronics, or controls engineering.
Experience:
* Several years of experience with robotics, control systems, and machine operation, including hands-on work.
* Strong programming, mechanical, and electrical skills.
* Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
* Self-starter with the ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Leadership experience preferred.
