The Leonardo Cyber Security Division is seeking a
Principal Platform Engineer
to join its engineering team. As a
Principal Platform Engineer, you will lead technical work and small teams within a larger group, focusing on the design, development, and testing of secure systems such as Information Management Systems, Command and Control systems, and Security Monitoring for IT, IoT, and CNI systems. You will have the opportunity to own and implement the engineering delivery of multiple work packages, including planning, estimation, execution, and progress reporting. Your Responsibilities:
Contribute to system and low-level design using your technical expertise. Develop, integrate, and test system solutions; create scripts for automation and integration. Report progress and status to internal stakeholders. Configure and administer security tools like SIEM, IDS/IPS, and EDR systems. Troubleshoot system issues and propose solutions. Implement security controls, including OS lockdowns. Create engineering artifacts and documentation for system delivery and maintenance. Mentor team members and provide technical support to the business unit. Collaborate with external vendors and resellers to develop cost-effective solutions. Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in systems engineering or IT solution delivery, preferably in secure environments. Strong technical knowledge of network and system infrastructure. Awareness of cyber security capabilities is advantageous. Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Windows and Linux server installation and management. Knowledge of virtualization technologies like VMware and Hyper-V. Experience with workstation deployment tools such as WDS and MDT. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other Microsoft products (Exchange, SQL, SharePoint, etc.). Practical experience in security policies, GPOs, application whitelisting/blacklisting, and device/media controls. Experience with enterprise patch management solutions like WSUS. Must hold DV security clearance as a minimum. Security Clearance:
