Are you an experienced operational manager looking for your next challenge? We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Care Group Deputy Operational Manager to join the AWA Community and Assessment Services Care Group for a period of 3 months.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone wanting to develop in their professional career and be part of the implementation and delivery of the new operating model.
You will have:
1. A degree or equivalent, plus postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience
2. Proven experience in operational management within the NHS or similar environment
3. Strong leadership, influencing, and communication skills
4. Ability to work collaboratively across professions and services
5. Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion
6. Experience in service planning, project management, and/or change leadership
Experience in mental health settings is essential and a management qualification is desirable.

Main duties of the job
Key Responsibilities
7. Manage operational staff and multidisciplinary teams across all sites
8. Lead service delivery and improvement initiatives, translating national guidance into local plans
9. Support recruitment, retention, appraisal, and training of staff
10. Ensure compliance with Trust policies, mandatory training, and health & safety standards
11. Investigate complaints and incidents, implementing improvements
12. Oversee governance arrangements and contribute to financial management
13. Foster a culture of openness, teamwork, and continuous improvement
14. Participate in the management on-call rota (first)

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
You will work closely with the Care Group Operational Manager and the care group triumvirate leadership team to deliver and coordinate key objectives for the care group, supporting service planning, staff engagement, and operational delivery. This is a pivotal leadership role, deputising for the Care Group Operational Manager as required, and ensuring the highest standards of patient-centred care, safety, and quality.
