THE JOB
We’re looking for a highly organised, trustworthy and commercially aware Finance Manager to join our growing restaurant group.
The Hooked-on Group operates three of the North East’s best-loved restaurants, with a combined turnover of c.£4m. This is a pivotal role at the heart of the business — responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity and smooth running of our day-to-day finances.
You’ll be based at the Group’s head office and will work closely with the owners and our external accountants, taking ownership of the finance function across all sites — from cash and payroll through to VAT and monthly reporting.
This is not a standard bookkeeping role. We’re looking for someone who understands hospitality operations, thrives on detail, and takes pride in getting things right.
This role would suit someone currently working as a Finance Manager, Assistant Accountant or Senior Bookkeeper within a hospitality business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Full ownership of bookkeeping across multiple sites using Xero
* Cash, card and bank reconciliations
* Supporting Payroll processing, PAYE/NIC and Pensions
* Supplier payments and invoice management
* VAT returns and compliance
* EPOS (Zonal) integrations and monthly journals
* Gift voucher, events and payment platform reconciliations
* Monthly management accounts and reporting
What we’re looking for
* Proven experience in hospitality finance (restaurants, pubs or hotels)
* Strong Xero and cloud accounting experience
* Exceptional attention to detail and organisation
* High levels of integrity, discretion and trustworthiness
* A proactive, problem-solving mindset
EXPERIENCE
* Minimum 3–5 years in bookkeeping or finance role
* Experience in hospitality (restaurants, pubs, hotels)
* Strong working knowledge of Xero
* Experience managing payroll, VAT and reconciliations
WHY COME WORK FOR US
Our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we recognise that a strong finance function is critical to our continued success. We are looking for a Finance Manager who brings not only technical expertise, but also a proactive mindset, commercial awareness, and a collaborative approach to supporting the wider business.
In return, you’ll join a supportive and forward-thinking team where your insight and initiative are valued. We offer ongoing professional development, opportunities to influence strategic decision-making, and a culture that encourages continuous improvement.
We are committed to investing in our people and creating clear pathways for progression. Your career matters to us, and we take great pride in seeing our team members grow and succeed within the business. We nourish skills and talents to develop leaders of the future.
