Distribution and connections - As one of the largest Independent Connection Providers (ICPs) in the UK, we support distribution network operations across infrastructure. Our team installs and maintains distribution networks and ensures reliable connections for customers. carrying out electrical planned work, customer connections and network reinforcement. What will you be doing: We're looking for a SHEQ Advisor to work on our Renewable Connections project. This role will be split between two projects. One is based in Brent Cross, London, which involves the installation of a transformer. The other is based in Cowley, Oxford, which is a tertiary connection. The position will be a part of our delivery teams who are delivering new power infrastructure projects including Synchronous Compensators, battery storage, substations including transformer enclosures with associated equipment, ducting and cabling, drainage works and surfacing. Reporting to the SHEQ Manger you will be supporting the delivery teams from commencement through to final commissioning and completion in providing expert advice, assistance and guidance in regard to the management of health, safety and environmental issues. Supporting the site manager(s) to deliver daily morning briefings Delivering site inductions Engage and monitor trade contractors during site inspections Undertake any environmental monitoring as required Produce toolbox talks, team talks and appropriate SHEQ training materials Support and review Health, Safety and Environmental related documentations, such as the Construction Phase Plan, Environmental Management Plans, contractors RAMS etc Liaison with external bodies including Health and Safety Executive, Environmental Agency, Clients, and other stakeholders as directed by the SHEQ Manager and/or SHEQ Director Support incident management and investigation process Support the SHEQ manager in continually improving the Health, Safety and Environmental performance of Renewable Connections What you'll bring: Experience in infrastructure construction, preferably in a substation or similar environment Knowledge of legislative requirements and best practise in safety, health, environment and quality Ability to influence and/or coach Quality Auditor or a solid understanding Experience in incident management, including environmental Strong analytical and IT skills with the ability to produce plans, spreadsheets, reports, alerts, and presentations Strong communicator with an ability to manage SHEQ matters Experienced SHEQ professional in operating in large projects with the ability to strategically champion the contractual SHEQ plans Candidates should preferably have the following qualifications: Full driving licence NEBOSH General Certificate NEBOSH Construction Certificate CSCS (EUSR NG Person preferable) Environmental qualifications, such as IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management Whats in it for you?
