Facilities Manager – Soft Services
Location: Hackney (East London)
Contract: 3–Month rolling contract
Rate: 314 per day (Umbrella)
A Local Authority in East London is seeking an experienced Facilities Manager – Soft Services to lead the delivery of high–quality FM services across its corporate estate.
The Role
You will take a senior leadership role within Soft FM, supporting the Head of Corporate Soft FM and deputising where required. You will oversee internal teams and external contractors to ensure effective delivery of services including cleaning, security, reception, and support functions.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the strategic planning and delivery of Soft FM services across the estate
* Manage internal FM teams and external contracts, ensuring high performance and value for money
* Oversee procurement, contract management, and service improvement initiatives
* Ensure compliance with health & safety, statutory obligations, and Council policies
* Drive sustainability initiatives, supporting carbon reduction and energy efficiency goals
* Build strong partnerships across council services and external stakeholders
* Monitor performance, budgets, and service outcomes, reporting to senior leadership
About You
* Significant experience in Facilities Management (Soft Services)
* Proven track record managing teams, contracts, and stakeholders within a local authority/public sector
* Strong knowledge of compliance, H&S, and contract management frameworks
* Experience leading service transformation and continuous improvement initiatives
* Professional FM qualification or membership (e.g. IWFM) desirable
