The Role
We are a leading life sciences company specialising in the analysis of metals and commodities. With a strong reputation for quality and innovation, we support a wide range of industries through accurate testing and expert analysis. We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated individual to join our laboratory team as a Balance Operator / Weigher.
This is a hands-on role within our laboratory team, focusing on precise weighing and preparation of samples for further analysis. You’ll be working in a fast-paced environment where accuracy, safety and teamwork are essential.
About The Position
Shift: 6am-2pm and 1:30pm-9:30pm rotational shift
Contract: Full-time, permanent position
Salary: Competitive, with opportunities for progression
The day to day
* Preparing and handling samples through careful mixing, blending, and dipping techniques
* Operating high-precision analytical balances and moisture analysis equipment
* Interpreting moisture results to support accurate laboratory reporting
* Replenishing materials and ensuring smooth workflow across the team
* Organising, storing, and distributing samples with accuracy and care
* Maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment in line with company standards
The Essentials
* A positive attitude and a genuine willingness to learn
* Great organisational skills and a methodical approach to tasks
* Strong attention to detail and the ability to stay focused
* Confidence with basic maths and English (GCSE level or equivalent)
* Familiarity with Microsoft Office is a plus
* Any previous lab experience (paid or voluntary) is welcomed but not essential
